Terms of Service

1. About these terms

Welcome to Mualimi. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mualimi platform, including our website and mobile apps (together, the "Platform"), operated by Mualimi Platform Company (شركة منصة معلمي) ("Mualimi", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Who can use Mualimi

  • You must be able to enter a binding agreement under the laws of Saudi Arabia.
  • If you are under 18, you may use Mualimi only through a parent or guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf and manages your account.
  • Parents and guardians may create and manage profiles for their children and are responsible for their children's use of the Platform.
  • Tutors must be legally able to provide tutoring services in Saudi Arabia.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep your account secure.

3. What Mualimi is

  • Mualimi is a marketplace that connects students and parents with independent tutors for lessons, in person or online.
  • Tutors are independent providers. They are not employees or agents of Mualimi. We facilitate discovery, booking, communication, and payment, but each lesson is an agreement between the user and the tutor.
  • We verify tutor identity and review credentials and subjects before a tutor can offer lessons. We do not guarantee any particular result, and you are responsible for choosing a tutor that suits your needs.

4. Accounts and verification

  • To use certain features you must create an account and may need to verify your identity, which may use national identity services such as Nafath.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login details confidential.
  • We may refuse, suspend, or close accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe present a risk to users.

5. Booking lessons

  • You can search for tutors, view profiles, and book lessons through the Platform, choosing the subject, time, format (in person or online), and which student the lesson is for.
  • A booking is confirmed when it is accepted and payment is authorised through the Platform.
  • Changes, reschedules, and cancellations are subject to the policy shown in the app at the time of booking. For example, lessons cannot be cancelled less than one hour before the scheduled start time.

6. Payments, fees, and refunds

  • Payments are made through the Platform using the methods offered in the app, such as card, Apple Pay, cash, or Mualimi Points.
  • Tutors set their own prices, which are shown before you book. Any service fees will be shown before you confirm.
  • Mualimi Points are an in-app credit. One point is equal to one Saudi Riyal (SAR). Points may be granted in certain cases, such as when a lesson is cancelled by either party, and can be applied to future bookings.
  • Refunds are handled as described in the app. Where a lesson is cancelled, the amount may be credited to your Mualimi wallet as points rather than returned as cash.
  • Tutors may withdraw their earnings through the Platform. Any commission or fee that applies to tutors will be disclosed in the app. Withdrawal requests may be reviewed before they are released.
  • You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you under Saudi law.

7. Tutor obligations

Tutors agree to provide accurate credentials, teach the subjects listed on their profile, conduct lessons professionally and safely, comply with applicable law, and keep bookings, communication, and payment on the Platform. The subjects a tutor offers, and changes to them, are subject to review.

8. Your conduct

You agree to use the Platform lawfully and respectfully. You will not harass others, share other people's personal information, attempt to move transactions off the Platform to avoid fees or protections, upload harmful or unlawful content, or interfere with the operation or security of the Platform.

9. Safety

We build in safety features, including identity and credential verification, in-app messaging and calls, real-time tutor location before in-person lessons, and a way to report concerns. You remain responsible for taking reasonable precautions, and you should report any safety concern to us promptly.

10. Reviews, feedback, and reports

You may post reviews and feedback, which must be honest and lawful. By submitting content, you grant Mualimi a licence to use it to operate, improve, and promote the Platform. Reports generated for your information, such as session summaries and safety reports, are provided to help you and do not replace your own judgement.

11. Intellectual property

The Platform, and all content and materials we provide (excluding your own content and tutors' content), belong to Mualimi or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy or reuse them without our permission.

12. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that tutors will meet your expectations or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error free. Tutors are responsible for the lessons they provide.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Saudi Arabia, Mualimi is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability arising from your use of the Platform is limited as set out here.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Platform if you breach these Terms or present a risk to other users. You may close your account at any time. Some provisions, such as payment obligations and the sections on liability and governing law, continue to apply after your account is closed.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the competent courts of Saudi Arabia.
